Dave Grohl returned once again to late night television last night, following recent appearances on Chelsea Lately, The Colbert Report, and Late Show with David Letterman. This time around, however, Grohl’s Sound City Players stayed close to home in Los Angeles, where they appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. With John Fogerty and Rick Springfield in tow, the star-studded outfit tackled CCR’s classic anthem, “Fortunate Son”, and Springfield’s Sound City collaboration, “The Man That Never Was”. Next week, the Sound City Players will play South by Southwest at Stubb’s on Thursday, March 14th. Joining Grohl will be Fogerty, Springfield, Stevie Nicks, Corey Taylor, Alain Johannes, Rage Against the Machine’s Brad Wilk, Fear’s Lee Ving, and more. It should be noted that Grohl is also the festival’s keynote speaker.
