Boards of Canada continue to keep us on our toes. Following a series of mysterious audio clips, each of which revealed a set of six numbers to be placed within a 36-digit sequence (—— / —— / —— / —— / —— / ——), the band took a page from Daft Punk and unveiled a 90-second commercial on Cartoon Network last night (via Pitchfork). The advertisement includes visuals of an abandoned town in the desert, before revealing the placement of the same numbers revealed by NPR, “699742”. Now, all but one of the slots in the sequence have been filled (699742 / 628315 / 717228 / 936557 / —— / 519225). What happens then when the fifth and final slot is revealed? Hopefully we’ll find out whether Cosecha is the actual title of a new album.
