Jimmy Eat World — the best thing to come out of Mesa, AZ since Golfland Sunsplash — have released “I Will Steal You Back”, the lead single off their forthcoming seventh studio album Damage. Building on the “adult breakup record” theme, the band lay down their trademark groove of crunchy pop-punk guitars and steady drums while frontman Jim Adkins steadies himself for the uphill battle to earn back his lost love (“I only pick a fight I’m sure to lose/So how can I not hold my hope for you”). Stream it below.
Damage hits stores on June 11th via the band’s new label RCA. Also on the docket is a Record Store Day 7″ featuring the Damage title track and a cover of Radioheads oft-forgotten Pablo Honey single, “Stop Whispering”.
