Here’s something Reddit users can file under “Shutupandtakemymoney”: Joyful Noise has announced a new annual split 7″ series titled “Cause and Effect” that will kick off with new music from ex-Sonic Youth/current Chelsea Light Moving frontman Thurston Moore and Dinosaur Jr./Sebadoah spokesman Lou Barlow.
As the label notes, there will be “three separate split 7” records, which each adhere to an overarching theme: an influential, historically-significant solo musician on Side A, and the modern result of that musical influence on Side B.” Thus, Moore’s been paired with Talk Normal, Barlow shares wax with Dumb Numbers, and The Jesus Lizard’s David Yow gets Child Bite.
They’re all sold together as a bundle and look extra snazzy on split color vinyl with artwork by Shawn K. Knight. Considering they’re limited to 2000 copies, you’ll want to keep your eyes on the label’s website
