Speaking to Rolling Stone, Murphy revealed that he and Arcade Fire recorded together at DFA Records’ New York studio in March. Due to the quality of the material, and because the band serves as its own producer, Murphy told Rolling Stone that his role was to suggest different approaches or ways of fine-tuning the material.
“It’s always working,” Murphy explained. “It’s just that I might have a different way of approaching how to finish, or how to accomplish an end result that really works.”
“I think it’s going to be a really great record, actually,” Murphy added. “I’m eager to see it come out.”
There’s still no word on a release date for the album, but Arcade Fire drummer Jeremy Gara previously mentioned that the band would like to have it out by the end of the year.
