While Wu-Tang Clan celebrates its 20th anniversary, heavy-hitter Raekwon looks to the future with the release of “Soundboy Kill It”, the first track off his upcoming solo album, F.I.L.A. Producer Jerry Wonda crafts something less grimy for Rae, a vibrant blend of churning guitar samples and thumping drums, all capped off by the powerhouse vocals of Canadian songstress Melanie Fiona. But despite the change in soundscapes, The Chef still cooks up his usual thuggish fare (“I’m an all right villain/Keep a pocket knife/If I gotta brawl I’m willing”).
F.I.L.A (that’s Fly International Luxurious Art) is set to arrive later this year.
