We’re not going to lie: Kanye West owned this week. Not even Jay-Z could turn the spotlight off the Chicago MC, nor Sigur Rós, nor the 42 exceptional moments had at Bonnaroo. Nope. It was a World of Ye for all of us.
Still, that didn’t stop countless acts — both new and old — from pumping out new music. This week, Will Sheff stepped up to the mic, one of the more reckless garage-folk outfits returned, and Lynn Hirschberg’s favorite anti-pop star spit some fire.
Consider this a Yeezy-Free Zone.
