Here’s something cool: Glasgow’s CHVRCHES gazed out West recently for a cover of HAIM’s stellar single, “Falling”. As The Line of Best Fit points out, the performance took place on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge Late, where they shocked the hosts into a dazed chuckle. While it’s missing the thudding percussion and multi-layered harmonies of its original, frontwoman Lauren Mayberry channels some “Time After Time”-era Lauper and wades through the electronic vamping to produce something that’s all at once a homage and a daring remix. CHVRCHES’s full-length debut, The Bones of What You Believe, arrives September 24th through Glassnote Records. In support, they’ll be on the road throughout the whole year.
