Late last year, I happened to stumble upon Postiljonen’s glowing, ambient-pop interpretation of Whitney Houston’s “How Will I Know”, dubbed “All That We Had Was Lost”. Since then, the Scandinavian trio have continued to build upon these ethereal, handcrafted sounds with plans to release their debut full-length, Skyer, on July 22nd via Best Fit Recordings.
“Atlantis”, one of the album’s 10 new tracks, definitely deserves your attention — if not for the weightless and enchanting soundscapes, then for the excellent utilization of an uncommon and frankly underused instrument: the sexy saxophone. So, ask yourself: Do you like it sax-y?
