Top MP3s of the Week (8/23)

Although Death Grips and The Dismemberment Plan made valiant returns this week, it’s a soulful collaboration between Janelle Monáe and Miguel that tops our countdown. They’re two of the biggest performers in contemporary R&B and “Primetime” is their biggest song yet. Might as well just give them the Grammy now.

10. Danny Brown – “Hand Stand”

Danny Brown is crazy and will rap about anything. So when you get him on the topic of sex, like on “Hand Stand”, the X-rated expletives are plentiful. “Don’t stop girl keep twerkin’ it,” he spits to a circus-siren beat. “I’m watching you and I’m wondering if you could do that with my dick in it.” Yeah, it’s raunchy. The track will presumably be on his upcoming album, Old. –Jon Hadusek
