Broken Social Scene co-founder Brendan Canning’s sophomore solo record, You Gots 2 Chill, continues to live up to its relaxation-centric title with the release of single #2, “Bullied Days”. Keeping with the good vibes of “Plugged In”, “Bullied” is a bare-bones affair of textured synth and lush slide guitar that practically carries you into the sky and lovingly places you on the puffiest of clouds. Making the journey all the more comforting is Snowblink’s Daniela Gesundheit, whose breathy croon is almost too gentle and fragile to be as utterly beguiling. Listen in below.
You Gots 2 Chill is due out October 1st through Canning’s own Draper Street Records. In support of the album, Canning has announced a North American tour, with dates booked throughout late October and much of November. Consult the full schedule below.
