New York electro-pop duo Phantogram are hard at work on their sophomore album, but in the interim they’ll tide fans over with a new self-titled EP, due out September 30th via Republic. We’ve already seen the band dazzle and get busy on “Black Out Days”. Now, they’re showing a slightly softer side with the newly unveiled “Celebrating Nothing”. Calling to mind the lush, but controlled buzz and energy of their full-length debut Eyelid Movies, the track maintains a captivating, but nicely understated aura throughout, giving Sarah Barthel room to show her guilt: “How many times can I blow it all? / How many times will I burn it down?” Listen below (via Stereogum).
