It’s the most viral video in the world. It’s charted on Billboard. And now, “The Fox” has taken over late night. Yes, the Norwegian brothers of Ylvis appeared on Jimmy Fallon this week to recreate their ridiculous (and ridiculously addictive) video for “The Fox”, complete with Robert Palmer-esque backup dancers, people in animal costumes, and even the Santa Claus look-alike telling the tale to a young boy. The Roots, led by Questlove in fuzzy ears, performed alongside the brothers, and Fallon himself gets in on the act, dressing in a fox suit and joining on the cha-cha-chows. It’s actually pretty impressive how Ylvis manage to recreate all those hypothetical fox sounds live, and it makes you wonder: Can a video go viral in two different forms? Let’s find out.
