Pixies have named named their new bassist, and shockingly enough, her name is not Kim. Joining the band for their upcoming 2014 jaunt will be Paz Lenchantin, whose résumé includes stints with Zwan, A Perfect Circle, and Entrance Band. She replaces Kim Shattuck, who replaced founding member Kim Deal in the band for their 2013 tour.
To go along with news of Lenchantin’s addition to the lineup, the band has announced a leg of European tour dates for Summer 2014. The docket includes a series of festival appearances, as well as a one-off opening for Arcade Fire on June 29th in Dublin.
They’ve also unveiled a new music video for “Another Toe In the Ocean”, off their recent EP-1. Written, directed, and animated by Liviu Boar of the Romania-based ReeAnimation, it’s a fun little cartoon centered around the life and times of frontman Frank Black.
