Las night, Dr. Dre, Trent Reznor, and Interscope’s Jimmy Iovine celebrated the launch of Beats Music with a star-studded party in Los Angeles. In attendance was everyone from Paul McCartney to Drake to Selena Gomez, but it was the evening’s lineup of performers that proved most spectacular.
Dre enlisted a cavalcade of 90s emcees to perform over the course of the evening, including Nas, Diddy and Ma$e, Bones Thugs-N-Harmony, Redman and Method Man, Geto Boys, Busta Rhymes, Pharcyde, and DJ Jazzy. Dre himself also performed and the evening was capped off with an appearance from Eminem, who teamed with Dre for “My Name Is”, ”Forgot About Dre”, and “Lose Yourself”.
Here was the full setlist:
Ice Cube – “Today Was a Good Day”
Cypress Hill – “Insane in the Brain”
Geto Boys – “Minds Playin’ Tricks on Me”
Souls of Mischief – “93 til Infinity”
Pharcyde – “Passin’ Me By”
Method Man and Red Man – “How High”
Bone Thugs-N- Harmony – “Thuggish Ruggish Bone”
Nas – “Nas Is Like”/”If I Rule the World”
Dr. Dre – “California Love”
Black Street – “No Diggity”
Diddy/Ma$e – “Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down”/”More Money, More Problems”
Busta Rhymes – “Put You Hands Where My Eyes Could See”
Eminem – “My Name Is”/”Real Slim Shady”/”Without Me”
Unfortunately, Reznor didn’t jump on the mic and spits some rhymes, but we will get to see him perform with Dave Grohl and Queens of the Stone Age at the Grammys tomorrow night.
