Legendary psych-folk artist Linda Perhacs will soon return with The Soul of All Natural Things, the long-awaited follow-up to her influential debut, 1970’s Parallelograms. The 10-track LP arrives on March 4th through Sufjan Stevens’ own label Asthmatic Kitty and features guest spots from Julia Holter and Nite Jewel.
In a statement, Perhacs described the motivation behind The Soul: “We get too far out of balance and we must find a way to get back to our polestar. I felt that people needed to be reminded of that. My music isn’t just recreational, it’s not just entertainment. I have a deeper purpose. My soul is giving itself to the people; I want them to be helped, I want them to be lifted.”
Following the gorgeous track “Freely”, released in December, comes “River of God”, an inspiring number with absolutely stirring and crystalline harmonies. Listen in below.
