With Grammy weekend upon us, many acts are in the middle of a two-day bender of glitzy parties and buffets of industry platitudes. Meanwhile, The National spent the lead-up to the Big Day living it up at the one place all true rock stars flock: CBS.

The Brooklyn outfit stopped by CBS This Morning: Saturday for an interview and performance in continued support of last year’s Trouble Will Find Me, which is up for Best Alternative Album. The pre-taped interview segment saw Matt Berninger and the Dessner brothers discuss the band’s rise from their Brooklyn loft, their breakthrough with Alligator, and whether a bump in fame and starting families kept them hungry. Back in the studio, they performed stirring renditions of “Don’t Swallow The Cap” and “I Need My Girl”.

Watch the interview here, and replay their performance below.
