British electronic artist SBTRKT has been teasing the follow-up to his self-titled debut for months now, but today it was revealed he’s been simultaneously working on another project. A new song titled “Hold the Line” was premiered on Mary Anne Hobbs’ BBC Radio 6 program and, according to a statement SBTRKT gave Hobbs, it’s only the first in a new series of instrumental releases.
“These tracks will form a collection of vinyl 12″s before my next album and its singles,” SBTRKT explained, “maybe a digital release, too. They’ll be out in a couple of months. All instrumental stuff along the lines of the music I put out on Ramp or the early Young Turks releases.” Kicking off the collection, “Hold the Line” is a glitchy dream of a cut, and you can take a listen below.
