The Cure will return later this year with their 14th studio album and first in six years. Tentatively entitled 4:14 Scream, the album was recorded at the same time as 2008’s 4:13 Dream, according to a press release. It will be released along with a series of live concert DVDs on a date as yet announced.
In conjunction with these new releases, the band also plans to embark on a third round of “Trilogy” style shows in late 2014. Previously installments have featured full performances of Pornography, Disintegration, and Bloodfloowers in 2002 and Three Imaginary Boys, Seventeen Seconds, and Faith in 2011. This time, they’ll perform The Top, The Head on the Door, and Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me in their entirety.
Already, the band is confirmed to appear at this year’s Teenage Cancer Trust benefit shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall on March 28th and 29th. Additional dates are expected soon.
