Bruce Springsteen isn’t letting his mediocre new album High Hopes thwart his trademark live show. With Tom Morello in tow, he’s been treating Australian audiences to epic setlists, complete with covers signature of the area. Recently, he covered AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell”, with Eddie Vedder no less, and now he’s back with a left field rendition of INXS’ classic hit “Don’t Change”.
It’s a curious choice. Personally, if I had known the E Street Band would tackle anything by INXS, I would have tossed in “Never Tear Us Apart” as a potential cover. Instead, Springsteen opted for the 1982 single. Perhaps he’s a huge fan of Greg Mottola’s Adventureland, or maybe he just loves the song’s anthemic chorus. Either way, check out his version below, followed by a rare “false start” into “Born to Run”.
