L’Wren Scott, renown fashion designer and Mick Jagger’s longtime girlfriend, has died in an apparent suicide. Scott’s body was found this morning in her New York City apartment by her assistant, according to the New York Daily News. She was 47 years old.
Authorities at the scene believe she hanged herself, but the medical examiner will determine the official cause of death.
A spokesperson for Jagger said that he is “completely shocked and devastated” by the news.
Scott, who was raised in Utah, had made a name for herself as a model, stylist, and fashion designer. She had been linked to The Rolling Stones frontman since 2001. In addition to outfitting celebrities like Madonna and Angelina Jolie, she recently helped pick out wardrobe for the Stones’ world tour.
