Nine Inch Nails are in the midst of a co-headlining Australian tour with Queens of the Stone Age, but it looks like Trent Reznor and Co. have already lined up another massive joint tour.

As The PRP points out, briefly listed a co-headlining date featuring Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden, scheduled for Sunday, August 17th in Dallas, TX. Not long after the listing was pulled, both bands shared short videos featuring a similar aesthetic and a quick-moving barrage of various American cities and concert venues. Neither band responded to our request for comment.

Reznor previously announced plans to return to North America in 2014 for another leg of touring in support of the band’s latest LP, Hesitation Marks. Meanwhile, Soundgarden are celebrating the 20th anniversary of their album Superunknown and have already lined up gigs at South by Southwest and Sasquatch! Music Festival.

If the news does prove true, it sees two longtime rivals coming together for the first time since their infamous show in Molson Park, Ontario in 1994. As Reznor recounted in a 2009 interview, “We had a chip on our shoulder about Soundgarden because their record came out the same day Downward Spiral came out and they beat us to #1 on Billboard. That became a kind of professional showdown.” Reznor added, “And we did show them,” referencing their now-legendary performance that day. Soundgarden’s set received a less than favorable response due to Chris Cornell’s vocal performance.

Reznor was also critical of Cornell following the release of his 2009 solo album Scream, deeming it “embarrassing” and implying that he sold out by working with producer Timbaland. Reznor’s 2009 April Fool’s spoof album Strobe Light, “produced by Timbaland”, was another shot at Cornell.

According to the pulled listing on Live Nation, tickets go on sale next Friday, so we should find out more details soon enough. In the meantime, a user on Reddit has identified a number of the venues featured in the videos:
