The setlist for Nine Inch Nails and Queens of the Stone Age’s first co-headlining Australian show

Nine years ago, Queens of the Stone Age and Nine Inch Nails joined together to tour the U.S.A. Last night, the two rock bands reconvened for a new co-headlining jaunt, this time down through Australia and New Zealand. The tour opened in Sydney, where a coin flip determined that Nine Inch Nails would take the opening set.

Featuring Trent Reznor, Robin Finck, Ilan Rubin, and Alessandro Cortin, the newly-minted quartet ran through a 20-song set similar to what they’ve been playing for the last year or so. As expected, the set was heavy on material from the band’s new LP, Hesitation Marks, while also mixing in tracks from The Downward Spiral, Pretty Hate Machine, and Broken.

Queens of the Stone Age, meanwhile, closed out the evening with an 18-song, career-spanning setlist. Nearly half the songs came from …Like Clockwork were most of the rest of the setlist was comprised of greatest hits.

Holding true to their words, the night featured no on-stage collaborations. In a recent interview with triple J radio, Homme said each band wanted to solidify their own sets before considering the idea of joining forces. “The initial plan is for everyone to do their thing,” he explained. “So much of the time it sounds lovely to smash it all together. Let’s just start by everyone kicking their ass and doing their thing.”

By the end of the night, here’s what both bands wound up playing:
