Listen: Garbage’s new songs “Girls Talk” and “Time Will Destroy Everything”

For Record Store Day 2013, Garbage teamed up with Screaming Females to cover Patti Smith. This year the band released a special 10-inch vinyl featuring two previously unreleased original songs, “Girls Talk”, a duet with ex-Distillers frontwoman Brody Dalle, and “Time Will Destroy Everything”. Listen to them below (via Teco Apple).

Though the tracks are only surfacing now, both were reportedly years in the making. “Girls Talk” (formerly titled “Girls Talk Shit”) dates back to 2007 and was originally written to be included on the band’s greatest hits album, Absolute Garbage. Meanwhile, “Time Will Destroy Everything” was first conceived during the recording sessions for Garbage’s fifth album 2010’s Not Your Kind of People.
