It may be hard to believe, but rap god Jay Electronica is actually a mere mortal just like me and you. How do I know? This evening, the rapper fell victim to a classic case of drunk tweeting. “these tweets are brought to you by coconut ciroc and the crap tables at mgm. #youaintthejudgeofme!” he exclaimed.
Fortunately, it wasn’t all tweets about his preferred mobile device and pot shots at certain hip-hop blogs. Jay also took time to answer a few a music-related questions. Among the information divulged:
— His long-awaited major label debut, Act II: Patents of Nobility (The Turn), will be released this year.
— A collaboration with J Cole is forthcoming. He’d also like to work with Ab-Soul and Nas.
— He’s ready to release a new song as soon as Jay Z gives him permission.
— His favorite new emcees are Danny Brown, ASAP Rocky, ASAP Ferg, Ab-Soul, and Joey Bada$$. He specifically wishes that ASAP Rocky and Ferg, along with Ab-Soul, would sign to Roc Nation.
— He yearns for a new Frank Ocean album just like everyone else.
— He wasn’t impressed with Kendrick Lamar’s verse on “Control”. “He really didn’t say anything,” he added.
— His favorite Kanye song is “Gorgeous”.
— His favorite non-hip-hop artist is Billy Joel.
— A collaboration with Lil B is also forthcoming. “soon. and it will be the rarest thing ever to happen in music”, he explained.
