Two of music’s strongest leading ladies come together today, as M.I.A. reworks Beyoncé’s “Flawless”, from her latest self-titled LP. Re-christening the track “Baddygirl 2”, M.I.A. flips the trap banger into an all-out sonic assault, including some reworked lyrics (“I woke up like this, I went to bed like this, we do everything just like this”). She also removes Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s empowering message of equal rights; don’t fret, though — she does right by dropping in her own feminist message: “men and women are 50/50”.

    Listen in below.

M.I.A. previously teased the track several weeks back. During today’s reveal, she wrote on Twitter, “Beyonce camp has not replied for months > SO HERE >.”

This is just the latest track from Beyonce’s new album to receive a rework. Kanye West, The Weeknd, Diplo, and Future all previously offered their take on “Drunk in Love”.
