Stream: Chromeo’s new album White Women

Chromeos fourth studio album, White Women, is due out on May 13th via Atlantic Records. Ahead of the release, it’s now streaming in full over at iTunes Radio.

In describing the follow-up to 2010’s Business Casual, the duo of Dave 1 and P-Thugg used just five adjectives: “Better, Funkier, Poppier, Catchier, Happier.” They were assisted in their task by a slew of all-star indie acts, including Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig, Solange Knowles, Toro Y Moi, and LCD Soundsystem’s Pat Mahoney, among others.

The album is preceded by a number of singles, specifically the Toro y Moi-aided “Come Alive”, “Sexy Socialite”, “Jealous (I Ain’t with It)”, “Over Your Shoulder”, and “Ezra’s Interlude”.

In a recent Reddit AMA, the pair offered insight into the album’s title and their overall creative direction. “We chose the title because it’s the name of the first Helmut Newton book. He’s a huge influence on us…you know, the legs, that 80s sexy look. And we thought the title was ballsy, funny, was going to get people thinking. Our music always blurred boundaries between past and present (is it retro? is it modern? is it both?) and now we want to blur boundaries between gender and race as well. Makes sense?”

Pre-orders for the album are ongoing. Below, watch the video for “Jealous (I Ain’t with It)”:
