According to WTVR, accidental heroin overdose has been ruled as the cause of death for GWAR frontman David Brockie (a.k.a. Oderus Urungus).
Brockie was found dead inside his Richmond, VA home on Sunday, March 23rd. He was 50 years old.
Despite Brockie’s death, the remaining members of GWAR are continuing on as a full functioning band. Their annual GWAR-B-Q will go on as planned on August 16th in Richmond, during which time they’ll hold a public memorial for Brockie. They’re also set to perform at Chicago’s Riot Fest in Chicago. Oh, yeah, and they’re opening their very own restaurant.
