In September, Washington, DC lost one of its greatest musical figures when Josh Burdette, the longtime club manager at Washington, D.C.’s 9:30 Club, unexpectedly passed away at the age of 35. Since then, scores of musicians have paid tribute to Burdette, the most recent coming on Tuesday night.
During his performance at 9:30, English folk-punk rocker Frank Turner played a new, as-yet-untitled song about Burdette, Not only that, but he recorded it live for inclusion on his forthcoming album. Below, watch fan-shot footage of the special, very emotional moment (via DCist).
