Riot Fest Chicago expands 2014 lineup: The Hold Steady, Primus, Tokyo Police Club, and more

    Riot Fest has expanded its Chicago lineup, adding Primus, The Hold Steady, Tokyo Police Club, Say Anything, and Pity Sex.

    Other new acts to the bill include Frank Iero, Only Crime, Lemuria, From Indian Lakes, Lucki Eck$, Tiny Moving Parts, Survay Says!, and The Picturebooks.

    The Chicago installment will take place September 12th – 14th in Humboldt Park. The lineup is topped by The Cure, The National, Wu-Tang Clan, Jane’s Addiction, Slayer, and a reunion of Glen Danzig’s band Samhain. Other notable acts include The Flaming Lips, Weezer, Rise Against, Descendents, Patti Smith, Thurston Moore, Billy Bragg, Tegan and Sara, The Afghan Whigs, Superchunk, GWAR, Kurt Vile, Mastodon, Buzzcocks, and Taking Back Sunday. Pussy Riot members Nadya Tolokonnikova and Masha Alekhina are also scheduled to make an appearance.

    To commemorate its 10th anniversary, Chicago’s Riot Fest will also host a handful of very special performances, in which 10 veteran acts will perform their classic albums in full. See those acts and their corresponding LPs below:
