To coincide with the 25th anniversary of Beastie Boys’ Paul’s Boutique, artist Danielle Mastrion spent the weekend painting a mural at the exact street corner immortalized on the album’s cover. Above, you can see his finished painting (via EV Grieve).

For those who’d like to see it in person, the mural is located on the outside wall of Wolfnights, the sandwich shop that sits on the corner of Rivington and Ludlow in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The project was spearheaded by LeRoy McCarthy, who also unsuccessfully launched a petition to name the intersection “Beastie Boys Square”.
