Back in December, Hudson Mohawke and Lunice announced plans to temporarily shelve TNGHT in order to focus on their respective solo careers. While Mohawke has since released a few mixtapes, and recently toured the U.S., Lunice finally emerges from hiding with his first solo track since the hiatus.
Entitled “Can’t Wait To”, the track finds the Montreal producer playing around in the realm of footwork, crafting a repetitive, but still oddly mesmerizing blend of skittish percussion, dense layers of bass, and plenty of skewed vocal samples. It’s as wacky and infectious as anything TNGHT crafted, but also displays a sense of experimentation and clear signs of a sound that’s a bit more nuanced.

“Can’t Wait To” is reportedly the first single off Lunice’s upcoming solo LP, reportedly due out later this year.
