Zammuto, the new project from The Books’ Nick Zammuto, has shared the second track from his sophomore solo album, Anchor, due out September 2nd via Temporary Residence.

Coming off the pensive lead single “Great Equator”, “Hegemony” explores more playful sonic concepts. Here, Zammuto buries the faint rhythms of salsa and disco under a billow of harsh, rattling drums, sensuous vocal samples, and the flutter of icy studio effects. Utterly detached and yet still brimming with passion, the track occupies a space that is equal parts cerebral and instinctual. Take a listen at NPR.org.
