Arcade Fire teams with Mavis Staples, covers The Rolling Stones in Chicago

    Throughout the Reflektor tour, Arcade Fire have made a habit of performing regional covers. Occasionally, they’ve even invited the original artist to join them on stage, such was the case with Ian McCulloch in London and Marky Ramone and Buster Poindexter in Brooklyn. During their show in Chicago last night, the band brought out soul singer and local legend Mavis Staples.

    Together they performed The Staples Singers classic “This May Be the Last Time” before transitioning into The Rolling Stones’ “The Last Time” (see what they did there?). Watch fan footage below.

    Arcade Fire also performed a show in Chicago on Tuesday night, during which they covered “Who Do You Love?” by Chicago blues legend Bo Diddley. Find footage of that performance below.
