London-based indie pop group Allo Darlin’ have announced a new album, We Come From the Same Place, which will be released on October 7th via Slumberland Records. Produced by Simon Trought, the follow-up to 2012’s Europe was inspired by a series of life events experienced by singer Elizabeth Morris, including a move to Florence, Italy and getting married.

As the first preview of the LP, the band has shared lead single “Romance and Adventure”. In a press release, guitarist Paul Rains explained, “We’ve used three years of touring to try and get some of that sweat and grime and togetherness and sweetness and anxiety onto a record.” While not grimy per se, “Romance and Adventure” does have an incredibly lived-in feel. A compact gem of indie pop, complete with tender vocals and jangly arrangements, the song finds Morris singing lines like “I’m just tired of being strong.” It’s one of the band’s most confident singles yet, and is quite the endearing listen.
