CoSigned Pittsburgh punk outfit Code Orange (fka Code Orange Kids) will release their sophomore album, I Am King, on September 2nd via Deathwish Inc. In anticipation, it’s streaming in full below.

The follow-up to 2012’s Love is Love/Return to Dust  is the foursome’s first release since their name change earlier this year. The 11-track effort was produced by Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou at God City Studios in Salem, Massachusetts. Upon announcing the record, the band issued the following statement:

    Be no longer hopeless mission
For everything or none at all
See the world with code orange vision
Carve the words into your skull

In a subsequent interview with Ibodi Howl, drummer and vocalist Jami Morgan said that he felt that “a lot of the heavier parts are heavier and sometimes more obvious.” He explained the harder edge came as the band explored more metal-leaning influences, including Sepultura, Prayer For Cleansing, and Alice In Chains.

He added, “A lot of the odd parts are weirder and a little more anti-social. Things are a lot more blended together. It is my favorite thing we have done by miles and miles but I’m sure everyone says that about their newest record.”

The album is preceded by three singles, the title track, “My World”, and “Dreams In Inertia”.
