Allo Darlin’ release new song “Bright Eyes” — listen

With their new song, “Bright Eyes”, London and Australia-based indie pop outfit Allo Darlin’ have offered another whimsical preview of their new album, We Come From the Same Place (out on October 7th via Slumberland Records). Much like lead single “Romance and Adventure”, the new song showcases the slightly twee, charming side of the band, with Belle & Sebastien-like vocal interplay between Elizabeth Morris and Paul Rains, and jangly, lackadaisically executed guitar playing.

Despite its title, “Bright Eyes” isn’t about Conor Oberst’s mope-folk moniker, but rather something much more cheery. In a call and response part between Morris and Rains, Morris asks, “Do you believe in fun?” which Rains answers, “I surely do.” We do, too, especially after one listen to this song.
