With a new record and HBO making-of documentary series, Foo Fighters have been dominating TV airwaves on a media blitz. Two weeks ago, they spent every night performing with a special guest on Letterman. Now, they’ve capped off this past week with an appearance on CBS’ 60 Minutes.

Anderson Cooper and the news program caught up with the rockers at New Orleans’ iconic jazz venue Preservation Hall, where Dave Grohl and the gang delivered a surprise show. Afterwards, they sat down with Cooper to discuss why they were bringing the Sonic Highways journey to HBO. Watch it here, or below.

Sonic Highways the show airs on HBO Fridays at 11:00 p.m. ET, with episode three coming this week. Sonic Highways the album, meanwhile, is due November 10th via Roswell Recordings. So far we’ve heard lead single “Something From Nothing” and the Bad Brains-featuring “The Feast And The Famine”.
