Monday night saw Foo Fighters kick off their week-long residency on Late Show with David Letterman by covering Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs” with the aid of Zac Brown. Last night, Dave Grohl and the boys continued to support their upcoming LP, Sonic Highways, and corresponding HBO mini-series with another all-star performance. This time around, Heart’s Ann and Nancy Wilson joined the band for a rendition of “Kick it Out”. Watch the replay below.
In related news, Grohl painted New York City Foo on Monday night, making a surprise appearance at McKittrick Hotel to help celebrate the release of photographer Danny Clinch’s new book, Danny Clinch: Still Moving. Grohl and Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, along with Perry Farrell and others, hit the stage to cover The Rolling Stones’ “Miss You” and Bob Dylan’s “From a Buick 6”. Sonic Highways is out November 10th on Roswell Records, while episode one of the band’s HBO series premieres October 17th. Also on the 17th, the band will hold a special viewing party of their HBO show at Chicago’s CubbyBear after which they’ll hit the stage for a performance.
