Los Angeles alt rockers Francisco The Man will release their debut album, Loose Ends, on October 27th through Fat Possum / Small Plates Records. Today, the band follows up teaser tracks “Progress” and “Big Ideas” with another cut from the album in “It’s Not Your Fault”.
With a bouncy opening bass line and shoegaze-inflected buzzsaw guitars, the song simultaneously evokes the rambunctiousness of ’90s bands a la Weezer and Archers of Loaf and something much dreamier. On the track, frontman Scotty Cantino repeats, “I’m always looking at the wrong thing,” before launching into a breathless wail of a chorus. It’s quite the infectious jam, and a promising taste of what’s to come on Loose Ends. Listen in below (via Earmilk).
