Prince celebrated the release of his two new albums — ART OFFICIAL AGE and PLECTRUMELECTRUM — with a record release concert at his house/studio/live concert venue, Paisley Park, outside Minneapolis on Tuesday night. Three of the songs were streamed live online via Yahoo!, including his performance of 1998 rarity “What’s My Name”, which saw a surprise appearance from Kendrick Lamar. Watch footage below.

According to Yahoo!, Prince teased Kendrick’s appearance earlier in the webcast by playing a snippet of an unreleased collaboration between his band, 3rdEyeGirl, and the Compton MC. He also previewed a track featuring UK pop star Rita Ora. Knowing Prince, it’s anyone’s guess whether he plans to officially release either track — then again, I never thought I’d see the day he’d join Facebook, even if it was just to answer one fan’s question.
