On Friday, Pearl Jam shocked fans attending their concert at Moline, Illinois by performing their fourth studio album, 1996’s No Code, in its entirety to kick off the set. According to Eddie Vedder, it marked only the second time in the band’s illustrious history that they had performed any one of their albums front to back in a live setting. Seems like the band enjoyed it as much as we did, because last night in Milwaukee, they gave a full performance of their fifth LP, 1998’s Yield.

Also of note was a cover of The Who’s “Baba O’Riley”, which featured a surprise appearance from Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen. It marked Nielsen’s second major gig in less than a week, as he also sat in with Foo Fighters for their Chicago club show on Friday night. Later, Vedder celebrated Tom Petty’s 64th birthday by covering “I Won’t Back Down”.
