Death Row Records founder Suge Knight and comedian Katt Williams have been arrested and each charged with one count of robbery after allegedly stealing the camera of a female “celebrity photographer,” says the LA County District Attorney’s office. TMZ reports that Knight was arrested on Wednesday in Las Vegas while Williams was taken into custody while — get this — making a court appearance for a separate assault charge.
The incident took place in September in Beverly Hills, when a woman apparently knocked the photog to the ground and Williams grabbed her camera. It’s unclear what Knight’s involvement was, though he has previously acted as Williams’ tour manager and they’ve gotten into trouble together before; the pair were involved in a fight together just hours after Williams was released from jail in 2012. Because of their lengthy rap sheets, Williams faces up to seven years in jail, while a D.A. says Knight could get up to 30 to life in a state prison due to a prior conviction for assault with a deadly weapon.
Knight was recently shot six times at a VMA after party in August. Williams, meanwhile, is being sued by a former tour manager for assault and battery. Below, watch TMZ-shot video of the alleged victim just minutes after the incident occurred.
