The Decemberists have announced their latest album, What A Terrible World, What A Beautiful World.
The album title and its artwork (seen above) were both revealed this morning via a mural located in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Williamsburg. Frontman Colin Meloy himself was on hand for the unveiling and performed a brand new song from the album, a jangly ditty entitled “Make Me Better”.
Below, watch footage of Meloy performing “Make Me Better” as well as “The Engine Driver”, from 2005’s Picaresque.

What A Terrible World, What A Beautiful World serves as The Decemberists’ seventh studio album and the follow-up to 2011’s The King Is Dead. A release date has not yet been revealed. Back in April, Meloy debuted another album track in “Carolina Low”.
