It appears the forthcoming Steve Jobs biopic being helmed by Aaron Sorkin and Danny Boyle has finally found its leading man. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Michael Fassbender has signed on to play Apple’s co-founder.
Fassbender’s casting comes after both Leonard DiCaprio and Christian Bale dropped out of consideration for the project. The revolving door cast reportedly spooked Sony Pictures, who dropped the film last week. However, just days later, Univerial Pictures adopted the film with Sorkin, Boyle, and Fassbender in tow.
It was previously reported that Seth Rogen was in talks to play Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak in the film — however, that casting has yet to be confirmed.
Sorkin and Boyle’s film will be the second Steve Jobs biopic since the death of the Apple co-founder in 2011. Ashton Kutcher previously starred in Jobs, which was released in 2013.
