Coldplay has contributed a brand new song called “Miracles” to Angelina Jolie’s directorial debut Unbroken. It serves as the band’s first piece of new music since last summer’s Ghost Stories LP. Listen in below.
Due out Christmas Day, Unbroken tells the story of Louis Zamperini, an Olympic runner who was taken prisoner by Japanese forces during World War II. The film’s soundtrack will be released on December 15th via Atlantic Records.
In related news, Chris Martin recently confirmed that Coldplay is working on a new album titled A Head Full of Dreams. Martin described the LP as the band’s final chapter, explaining, “It’s our seventh thing and the way we look at it it’s like the last Harry Potter book. That’s not to say there won’t be another thing one day, but this is the completion of something.”
