    The nominees for the 2015 Golden Globe Awards have been revealed. Now in its 72nd year, the Golden Globes honor the best in film and television. This year’s gala is set for January 11th, 2015 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.

    Nominees for Best Drama include Boyhood, Foxcatcher, and The Theory of Everything. Meanwhile, Birdman, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and St. Vincent earned nods for Best Comedy.

    The category for Best Director pins Wes Anderson (The Grand Budapest Hotel) against David Fincher (Gone Girl) and Richard Linklater (Boyhood). Anderson and Linklater also earned Best Screenplay nods for their respective films.

    In the Best Actor Drama category, Steve Carrell (Foxcatcher) will face off against Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler) and Benedict Cumberbatch (The Imitation Game). Reese Witherspoon (Wild), Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl), and Jennifer Aniston (Cake) received nominations for Best Actress Drama.

    Best Actor Musical/Comedy includes Joaquin Phoenix (Inherent Vice),  Bill Murray (St. Vincent), Christoph Waltz (Big Eyes), and Ralph Fiennes (The Grand Budapest Hotel). Best Actress Musical/Comedy, meanwhile, features Helen Mirren (The Hundred Foot Journey), Amy Adams (Big Eyes), Julianne Moore (Map to the Stars), and Emily Blunt (Into the Woods).

    The category for Best Song is especially exciting as it features Lorde (“Yellow Flicker Beat”), Lana Del Rey (“Big Eyes”), Patti Smith (“Mercy Is”), and Sia (“Opportunity”). And Trent Reznor’s work on Gone Girl earned him a nomination for Best Original Score.
