This week, our friends at The Nerdy Show Network have hit a true milestone: the 200th episode of its titular flagship podcast. To mark the occasion, this week’s episode is an all-star spectacular entitled “The Oral History of Video Games“, featuring new interviews from every celebrity they’ve had on the show over the past two years. That’s 30-plus bigwigs from the worlds of music, gaming, TV/movies, and comics, each sharing their very first memories of video gaming.
Contributors include “Weird Al” Yankovic, YACHT’s Claire Evans, The Protomen, The X-Files creator Chris Carter, Futurama’s David X. Cohen, composer Jeremy Soule (Skyrim), MAKE Magazine founder Mark Frauenfelder, and many more. Insightful and funny, the resulting two-and-a-half hours offers “an unprecedented roadmap,” tracing “the course of the medium’s nearly 50-year lifespan, from Pong to present.”
