St. Vincent’s Annie Clark has shared the video for “Birth In Reverse”, from this year’s excellent self-titled album. Directed by Will Perron, the clip finds Clark jamming out amid a number of highly-stylized backdrops, including some distant cluster of stars and galaxies and what could be the inside of an M.C. Escher painting. If I had to describe the visual aesthetic, it would be Avant garde short film meets high-fashion photo shoot meets purposefully low-budget ’80s metal video. If that doesn’t get you to watch it below immediately, then nothing ever will.
