This evening in London, The Cure played the first of three Christmas shows at the Hammersmith Eventim Apollo. Upon the shows’ initial announcement, the band promised two-and-a-half-hour sets featuring “songs drawn from their entire 37-year-old catalogue, including deep cuts, pop songs, fan favourites and surprises galore,” and they certainly delivered.

The setlist spanned an astonishing 40 songs and featured four separate encores. Highlights included the live debut of The Head on the Door B-side “A Man Inside My Mouth” and the first performances of “The Wailing Wall” and “The Empty World” in 30 years. Other live rarities included “Kyoto Song”, “Like Cockatoos”, “Piggy in the Mirror”, and “Hey You!”.
